A cinematic teaser trailer for a new gaming conference in Saudi Arabia
The Challenge
We were tasked with creating a teaser trailer for a new gaming conference in Saudi Arabia, a piece that would introduce the event through a world that felt immersive, cinematic and unmistakably rooted in gaming culture.
Working from an initial brand guide, we developed three central characters who would lead the story. Each character needed to feel visually distinct while sharing the same underlying design language, and importantly, all three needed their moment in the spotlight.
Our Approach
We began by developing the story and characters, creating a flexible base character design that could be adapted to create three distinct characters and visual identities.
From there, we developed a storyline that takes the characters from a UI-inspired digital world into a vast digital desert, ultimately leading them to Riyadh. With the wider context and current events in mind, we drew on our love of gaming and storytelling to create a piece that felt both engaging and appropriate for the event.
A cinematic gaming journey . Combining character design, storytelling and dynamic 3D animation, we created an engaging teaser designed to build excitement around the new gaming conference.
Throughout the whole process we felt incredibly supported. Gecko had an organised approach, asked the right questions and the final outcome was very well received.
