Tuborg Ice Film

Full CG Animation and Effects

The Challenge

Part of our long running relationship with Carlsberg. The challenge was to create an icy environment and animate shards of frozen structures in a full CG Animation to reveal the Tuborg Ice bottle label design.

Directed by David Parvin, this production was one of our most complex challenges and one of the most successful in our history!

Our Approach

The choreography of the ice shards had to be exact, matching the precise pattern on the Tuborg Ice label design. We worked tirelessly on getting the icy surface shaders right while balancing the clarity of the label shapes.

Also the ice itself needed colour to reveal the label and that presented its own challenges for realism.

The resulting film performs a bit of a magic trick in its transition from ice to Tuborg Ice bottle and can.

We have been working with Gecko for over a decade now. They approach each project with the same consistency and always deliver amazing results. I believe that the quality of their work and their attention to detail makes the whole process a wonderful experience from start to finish.
