A commercial for Boots to showcase their product, ROC Renewex for British broadcast. The challenge for us was to create a 100% CG product and produce a photorealistic animation. The project was done in collaboration with Two Rivers Animation Partnership.
Gecko Animation was responsible for modelling, shading and rendering the product to achieve photo-realism. This was achieved using advanced Global Illumination techniques to best visualise the product without the use of a live-action studio.
The result is a very believable product shot with a camera move that could have never been re-created in live-action. The project was a huge success that demonstrated the advantages of using CG to best visualise a product for broadcast.
